I did my first trip to Europe in October 2025. I visited places in Spain and Portugal and this blog post covers details about this trip.

I took a flight from Bangalore to Frankfurt to Valencia, Spain. I was in Valencia for work and I stayed there for 9 days, 5 days for work and the rest to explore the city!

After Valencia, I took a train to Granada via Madrid. I stayed in Granada for 2 days since it's a small town and there is not a lot to see except for the main attraction which is Alhambra.

After Granada, I took a bus to Seville where I stayed for 3 days. I had already seen Cathedral and Minarets in Valencia so the main attraction for me in Seville was the Royal Palace of Alcazar. I did not book tickets online and the tickets are sold out 7-10 days in advance. Luckily and unlike Alhambra in Granada, They release around 3-400 tickets a day. People start queuing for these tickets from 6AM and the ticket office opens at 9 so you need to be there relatively early to get in. I waited 3 hours but it was actually okay! I met a nice professor from UCLA and we just talked for 3 hours while waiting for our turn! :)

After Seville, I took a bus to Lisbon via Albufeira. From Lisbon I had a flight to Madeira and my plan was to explore Lisbon after returning from Madeira.
